Google Classroom is a club of online tools that allow teachers to create assignments, receive work from students, and mark and return grades on papers. It was designed to rid of paper in classrooms and make online learning feasible. It was initially designed with laptops in schools, like Chromebooks, to enable teachers and students to better exchange information and tasks.

As more schools transition towards online education, Google Classroom has gotten much more widespread use, allowing teachers to implement paperless learning rapidly. Classrooms integrate using Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Earth, Calendar, and Gmail and complement Google Hangouts or Meet for live online teaching and inquiries.

    How to use Google Classroom

    1. Create a Class and Add Students

Google Classroom allows you to create a unique class for every class you instruct. You can create an entire class with just three mouse clicks and a couple of keystrokes. Google Classrooms are divided into various categories.

In the Students area, you can see all participants in your classroom. Students can be added to your class manually or let them join your class by themselves by using their personal Google accounts. If you are creating a new class, Google Classroom provides you with the class code found on the left of your screen. The class code can be shared with the pupils you wish to add to the class. Through laptops, computers, or Chromebooks, students sign into the Google account of their Google accounts and enter the class code to join the class.

    2. Using Google Classroom Assignments

Assignments can be a fantastic method to collect work from students and provide students with the opportunity to give feedback and grades. When you make an assignment, you can include specific instructions for the assignment and a due date and subject. If you provide the project’s due dates, the students are given until 11:59 pm on the due date to complete their work for the assignment. If they turn in their assignment late, Google Classroom still accepts the assignment; however, it indicates that the work was submitted late.

One of the greatest advantages of Google Classroom Assignments is that you can include files in your assignments. It is possible to add files that you downloaded from your PC; a file downloaded from Google Drive, a YouTube video, or even a link to a website. One suggestion is that a business education instructor could assign an essay prompt to an individual who is featured in the news and then add an image of a YouTube video of the person making an address.

    3. Organize your class around the topics you want to cover.

Suppose you have multiple units, chapters, subjects, and so on. Then, it is possible to classify your assignments and questions according to a topic to keep things well-organized inside your classroom.

In the “Classwork” section, click the “Create” button and add the topic. If you ever create an assignment or an announcement, you’ll be able to add the topic.

    4. Grade and return work.

When students are finished with their work, you can provide feedback and then grade the assignment. Click on the “Classwork” or “Classwork” button and click on the assignment you want to view your students’ work.

Here are a few options you could take.

    • Sort the assignment according to students who turned in the assignment or by the students who were assigned the task.
    • View and open student work by clicking it.
    • View and type private comments for the pupil by clicking the name of the student. You can also view the dates when the files were returned through the timeline.
    • Give a grade to the student’s work.

    5. Announcements for Your Students

Alongside the ability to create assignments and queries, Google Classroom allows you to make announcements. Students can reply to your announcements, and you can respond by creating threads. In reality, all students can engage in conversation around an announcement. Again, you can add an image or such as a YouTube video or even an announcement link.

Announcements are an excellent way to remind students of deadlines for assignments for your pupils. You can also make announcements scheduled to be posted at a later time to keep you organized and your students.
