How To Set Up Voicemail on iPhone/iPad in 2022
In recent years, our lives have become so plugged in that sometimes we want to take some free time and not have constantly checked our phones each minute. In these instances, it is recommended that you configure the voicemail feature on Android or iPhone to allow you to take time off for other tasks or commitments and not worry about missing crucial calls completely.
What is Voicemail?
Voicemail is a message that has been recorded digitally. So when you call someone, but they’re not there, and you want to record them, you can save in a digital mailbox a voice message that is stored digitally to be found by the person who owns the mailbox. Although voicemail functions have improved in the digital age, all systems are the same. Adding unified communications, also known as UC, may make Voicemail more effective.
How to set up voicemail on iPhone
Open the iPhone’s phone app.

- It’s the white and green phone icon on your home screen
- Tap Voicemail.
- It’s located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
If pressing Voicemail will initiate a call, you’ll need to follow the instructions for speaking in this article to set up the Voicemail. Unfortunately, this means your service does not support Visual Voicemail.
Tap Set Up Now.
If it’s your first time setting up your Voicemail, you’ll have to select “Set up Now. “This alternative will appear at the top of the page.
If you do not see this option, your Voicemail has already been set up. You can create your greeting by pressing the greeting at the top left-hand corner. This typically happens when you transfer data from an old phone to a brand-new one.
Log in with your already-created password, or make a new one.
The choice is based on whether you’ve created a voicemail account with your service provider:
You’ll be asked to input it immediately if you’ve already set up voicemail using your cellular provider. Enter the password and then click “Done” to connect your existing Voicemail to Visual Voicemail. All messages from your existing voicemail account will be sent to your iPhone once the setup is completed.
If you’ve not yet set up the voice mail, you’ll be prompted to set up an account with a password. Create the new password, tap Done, to enter it once more, after which tap Do once more to verify.
Press Personal for recording a greeting.
If you prefer the default greeting recorded by default, you can choose default instead. In other cases, make your greeting.

- Record your voice then say your greeting.
- Press Stop after you’ve finished.
- Press Play to hear a preview.
- Suppose you don’t like your greeting; press to cancel to remove it. Then, select Custom to test it again.
- Click Save when you’re satisfied with the greeting.
The benefits of creating Voicemail
24/7 Accessibility

Voicemail makes sure that your business and employees can always be reached. Although Voicemail isn’t always as preferred as calling an individual in person, it’s more pleasant than being unable to connect with someone even if they’re unavailable. This is particularly beneficial in roles where employees are usually absent from phones, like salespeople or service personnel, or just if employees aren’t able to check their phones when they are attending meetings.
Eliminate On-Hold Calls
Being on hold can be an unpleasant experience for the majority of people. With Voicemail, a user or customer can express their concerns quickly and not feel that their time was wasted when placed on hold. After that, the caller is able to return the call when they’re ready and reduces the duration for the caller.
Many Clients Prefer Voicemails
Voicemails let customers and clients communicate their needs effectively without interruption. As a result, customers and clients can concentrate on their primary concerns without being distracted by irrelevant details.
Cost-Effective
Voicemail could cut down on costs for staff but still maintain certain levels of satisfaction with customers. Voicemail means that a company might not require as many customer service personnel. In addition, businesses can reduce the amount of overtime paid for customer service personnel by allowing Voicemail to take calls at certain times of each day.
Call Screening
Voicemail allows your employees to check incoming calls. Priority calls are addressed immediately, while less urgent issues can be routed to Voicemail for action later.
