What is Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest sale of the year. It usually occurs during the summer months, the two-day deal event is only for Prime customers only. While the sale is open to all customers, even if there are non-Prime deals for sale items on the website throughout the sale, the greatest offers will be Prime Day deals.
In order to be eligible for these discounts, you’ll have to enroll in a Prime membership at $12.99 per month or $119 annually or start the free 30-day Prime trial as close to the date after it’s been made public.
If you don’t plan to continue using Prime in the future, simply ensure that you end the subscription within the trial period of one month. (We’ve written the Amazon Prime review for more information if you’re unsure.)
Prime Day originally started in 2015 to celebrate Amazon’s anniversary. It was designed to motivate shoppers to spend money during the non-holiday season the online retailer claims that its sole goal is to “offer a volume of deals greater than Black Friday”.
The event has since exploded into one of the largest sales on the retail calendar, and several other big retailers offering special promotions to make use of the large online audiences during Prime Day.
We’ll round up the top Prime Day deals at Amazon when they begin and we’ll also offer the most lucrative deals from retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and many more.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?
We believe that Amazon Prime Day 2022 will take place on the 18th of July, from Monday to 19 July. Amazon isn’t likely to reveal the date for the annual sale until closer to the date however, we believe Amazon will offer a massive sale lasting 48 hours that will offer many thousands of daily sales and bring the event back to mid-July instead of having it in June as it did in the summer of last year.
In the past year, Prime Day was moved to June 21-22, only the second time. It was only 8 months following the time Amazon was forced to delay Prime Day until mid-October, due to supply shortages and delays in delivery caused by the coronavirus epidemic in 2020.
Before this event, Prime Day was always celebrated in July. It began as a 24-hour shopping day in 2015, but then grew by 30 hours during July 2017, and then expanded to a two-day event.

How to prepare for Amazon prime day 2022: pro tips

You may be hoping for an updated kitchen appliance or laptop, you should make sure you’re aware of what you’re hoping to purchase in the Year’s Prime Day deals.
This implies going beyond the model or brand you’re interested in and noting the specifications along with features significant to you. In the current climate, there will be lots of specifications and prices floating around. To get the most competitive Prime Day deals possible you’ll have to know precisely what you’re seeking.
Additionally, your initial selection might not be available for sale, which means you’ll need to figure out what features you are willing to sacrifice for an affordable price, and what you’d prefer to spend more than the budget in case there was an abundance of value at an edgier price.
This also means you have to do some research into the price you will find. We offer Laptop deals, TV deals, Dyson Airwrap deals, and a myriad of other items throughout the year and you can look through our entire deals listings. Check these pages prior until Prime Day to get an idea of what an ideal price might be for the item you’re looking to purchase.
How to find the best Prime Day deals
The most lucrative Amazon Prime Day deals don’t necessarily appear immediately. But, they sell out quickly and you’ll have to come up with an action plan. Here are our top suggestions for securing the best Prime Day deals for you.
1. Find an Amazon Prime free trial

Amazon Prime Day 2022 is technically restricted to Prime members only, but Amazon generally offers free trials in the weeks leading up to the event in order to ensure it is able to attract as broad a base of customers as it can. If you’re not yet registered, you can find trial trials for free up to three weeks ahead, but make sure to schedule your subscription to be in effect for your Prime Day dates once we have them.
2. Compare other stores

In the past, we’ve seen more stores participating in Prime Day-style sales in an effort to grab some of Amazon’s pie. We’re predicting that stores like Walmart as well as Best Buy will be running their own promotions during the same time frame this year, so you’ll need to shop for the best Prime Day deals possible – as some may not be available on Amazon in any way.
3. Decide what you’d like to purchase
If you’re stepping into Amazon Prime Day 2022 with your eye on a prize then you’re already in a great chance to make some savings. Knowing what you’d like to purchase will allow you to filter down to the specific product you’re looking for, without having to comb through the deals that are flashy and wasting time doing this. Examine the specifications of the product, its features, and any aspects of design you’re looking for prior to buying and if you can take a look in the store to ensure you know precisely what you’re looking to purchase on the day you buy it.
4. Flexible budget
It’s not a good idea to rely on the belief that the tablet or TV you’re looking for is on sale. It’s possible to spend a lot of time looking for discounts for the specific model you’re interested in even if there aren’t any savings to be found and you might miss the best Prime Day deals in the process. It’s great to start with a specific brand and model in your mind however, consider what you would like to achieve from it and make sure you are open to these specifications and features to get the most value you can get for your money.
Similar to the previous point, it’s important to allow for some flexibility within your budget. While it’s never a great decision to be caught up immediately and then break your bank account, it’s worthwhile looking at similar models to see if can get much more value for your money by spending an additional $10 or $20.
5. Be ready and start early
As Prime Day itself rolls around and you’ll want to be among the first to enter the store to allow yourself the best time to search for the best deals available to you. The most popular discounts on the most popular tech of the year are often sold out and we don’t recommend waiting around for too long if you happen to find the best price.
6. Keep checking for better deals

Even if you’ve managed to score your ideal deal right out of the gate, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Amazon is completed. The new deals are announced during the entire sales period so you might discover a better deal worth delaying your initial order to.
How long does Prime Day last?
The past three years have all witnessed Prime day last for the duration of 48 hours. It could get worse. Black Friday has lasted beyond one Friday, too many weeks. This being said it’s most likely Amazon Prime Day 2022 will follow the same pattern and will run for two days.
There have been some varying opinions regarding the dates of the week that the sales are held over, however, for 2021 Prime Day, Amazon reverted to its standard Monday and Tuesday routine. Based on the success of that event, this is unlikely to happen on Amazon prime day 2022.
Is prime free on a prime day?
If you’ve never been a member or previously had an Amazon Prime account then you’re eligible to avail a no-cost Prime trial on Prime Day (or at any other time). Amazon provides all customers with the opportunity to try a 30-day free trial of Prime for students, and all customers get an extremely generous six-month Prime trial. You can end the trial anytime during the trial period and there’s no cost to cancel the amount.
If you decide to buy Prime when your trial is over it will cost you $119 per year. Student Prime accounts cost only $6.49 per month.
If you live in a house that has another member with a Prime account, then you could join an Amazon Household and share some of the Prime benefits without cost to you. This includes unlimited delivery on one day, same-day delivery within areas that are eligible as well as access to the all-important Prime Day offers. The program also gave you a 30-minute earlier access to Lightning Deals with Prime Early Access.
Where can you get better deals: Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday?

The two events Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday generally provide discounts on the same types of gadgets, however, there are some distinctions between the two events which influence the value offered as well as the ease of placing the offers into your cart.
Amazon Prime Day offers are mostly focused on Amazon its own products, with other retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart competing with Amazon Prime Day deals. The competition among shoppers is drastically reduced on Prime Day, which all adds up to deals that are generally more accessible and more affordable to price and won’t be out of inventory as fast.
But, Black Friday is set across a broader variety of retailers, usually with prices that appear a bit less expensive and with a greater selection of brands available for sale. This means more work to ensure that you’re getting the best deal you can, and keep in mind flash sales with limited inventory that are responsible for the majority of those low prices. With more competition from retailers, we typically see slightly higher sales during Black Friday.
